Occupation is an Australian science fiction action film directed by Luke Sparke that was released in theaters in New Zealand and Australia in July 2018.

A group of civilians escape capture after their small Australian town is destroyed in an air strike. They find that they are now among the last remaining survivors of an alien invasion that affects the entire planet. While the rest of humanity has fallen under the occupation of the aliens, they are building an army to fight against the superior enemy forces.

Directed by Luke Sparke, who also wrote the script. The film music was composed by Christopher Elves .

The film was shot on Australia's Gold Coast in late 2017. Around 300 locals acted as extras. Tony O'Loughlan acted as cameraman .

Film Mode Entertainment secured the international rights to the film. Distribution rights have been sold to the USA, Japan, China, Vietnam and other Asian markets.

The film celebrated its world premiere on July 10, 2018 at the Ritz Cinema in Sydney, was released in Australian cinemas on July 12, 2018, and in New Zealand on July 26, 2018. A theatrical release in the USA took place on July 20, 2018.

In the USA, the film received an R rating from the MPAA , which corresponds to a rating of 17 and over. In Germany, the film was approved for ages 12 and up .
