background

The film was shot entirely in Los Angeles . In the United States, the film grossed almost $ 19 million.

The action film Octagon - The Revenge of the Ninja was cut back in 1980 at its cinema premiere in Germany; the version of the film released on DVD with FSK-16 approval was shortened by a total of over 20 minutes. Until 2009 the film was on the index for media harmful to minors. EuroVideo not only reissued the film on DVD in September 2012, but also released it for the first time on Blu-ray Disc. For this purpose, the film was submitted to the FSK for a new examination and received an age rating of 16 years and over in the uncut version.

criticism

“There is not much action required. Anyone who knows Norris from his later 80s films will be bitterly disappointed here, because although his character is established as a lone fighter, he has hardly anything to do. At the end there is a really nice choreographed final fight, but in the end it is too little and too late. In addition to Chuck Norris, Lee Van Cleef and Richard Norton also act in his first role. "
