Odacir Soares Rodrigues
Odacir Soares Rodrigues (born October 31, 1938 in Rio Branco , Acre , Brazil ; † September 12, 2019 in Brasília , Brazil) was a Brazilian politician , lawyer and journalist . He was a senator for the state of Rondônia .
Live and act
Odacir Soares was born in the federal territory of Acre . He studied law and social sciences in Rio de Janeiro before becoming State Secretary for Security and Internal Affairs in the federal territory of Rondônia in 1967 .
As a journalist , he worked as a reporter for the magazines Manchete and Fatos e Fotos .
In 1970 he was elected mayor of the capital of Rondônia, Porto Velho , and was deposed by the military dictatorship in 1976.
In the 1980s he founded the Partido Social Democratica (PSD) in Rondônia.
For the state of Rondônia he sat from 1982 to 1998 as a Senator in Brasília in the Senate .
He died on September 12, 2019 in Brasília of complications from cancer.
