Geographical location

The place is located south of the main town in the upper Dreisbachtal in the Sauerland-Rothaargebirge nature park .

history

Oechelhausen was first mentioned in 1265. On January 13, 1624, Oechelhausen was accepted into the parish and office of Hilchenbach.

Until the municipal reorganization on January 1, 1969, the place, at that time still with the spelling Öchelhausen , belonged to the Keppel office .
