The office Keppel was an office in the district of Siegen in North Rhine-Westphalia . It administered until December 31, 1968 an area with eleven independent municipalities .

The Hilchenbach office emerged in 1843 from the mayor's office of the same name founded in 1815. In 1917 it was renamed to Amt Keppel . The administrative seat was the officially free city of Hilchenbach . The town of Hilchenbach was formed from the municipalities of the office on January 1, 1969 together with Hilchenbach.

On December 1, 1885, the Hilchenbach office at that time had an area of ​​66.8 km², on which 4007 inhabitants lived.
