Weidenau office
The Weidenau office was an office in the Siegen district in North Rhine-Westphalia . It administered until June 30, 1966 an area with ten independent communities .
history
The office was created in 1843 from the “Weidenau Mayor's Office”, which dates back to Prussian times. In 1878 the municipalities Eiserfeld , Gosenbach and Niederschelden were separated from the office and assigned to the newly formed Eiserfeld office. On April 1, 1937, Achenbach and Buschgotthardshütten were finally completely incorporated. On July 1, 1966, Bürbach, Volnsberg, Kaan-Marienborn, Seelbach and Trupbach went to the city of Siegen and Weidenau, Klafeld, Dillnhütten, Sohlbach and Birlenbach to the new city of Hüttental .
On December 1, 1885, the Weidenau office had an area of 43.3 km², on which 11,520 inhabitants lived.
