The Eiserfeld office was an office in the Siegen district in North Rhine-Westphalia . It administered until June 30, 1966 an area with three independent communities .

history

The office was created in 1878 when the three communities were separated from the Weidenau office . The seat of the administration was in Niederschelden. On July 1, 1966, from the office to the living up to Office Wilnsdorf belonging Eisern and the Office Freudenberg belonging Oberschelden formed the new city Eiserfeld. Since January 1st, 1975 all places belong to the city of Siegen . In 1930 the Siegen district council refused to merge the offices of Wilnsdorf and Eiserfeld into one office. Thus the Eiserfeld office remained the smallest in the circle.

As of December 1, 1885, the Eiserfeld office had an area of ​​19.5 km², on which 5989 inhabitants lived.

The coat of arms was awarded on August 18, 1937 by the President of the Prussian Province of Westphalia. It shows the diminished Nassau lion and the entrance to the Reinhold-Forster-Erbstollen in Eiserfeld as well as the miners ' count as a sign of iron mining.
