Trupbach lies in the valley of the Alche at an altitude between 260 and 330 m . Coming from the north, the almost 3 km long Trupbach flows into the village. The highest elevation in the district is the Kirrberg at 395.6 m in the far northeast of the district, about 2 km from the village. Trupbach and Seelbach are not, as is often assumed, separated from each other by Landstrasse 562. The district boundary runs at the end of the Seelbacher Weg (Trupbach) and from there in a short cut to the east, southeast over Alche and Straße and from there next to the Catholic Heilig-Geist-Kirche in Seelbach up to the top. To the north-west of the village lies the Heiden und Magerrasen nature reserve near Trupbach .

Trupbach was first mentioned in a document in 1389. Already around 900 there was a courtyard on the site of the place. In 1563 95 people lived in 15 houses in Trupbach. The oldest dated half-timbered building in the area of the city of Siegen is in the village. It was opened on May 17, 1611. The first school chapel was built in the village in 1670/71. In 1739 the chapel school , today's old school , was built. The volunteer fire brigade was founded as early as 1860.
A military training area was laid out above Trupbach in 1936. This was used from 1945 to 1994 by Belgian armed forces stationed in Siegen.
Until the municipal reorganization on July 1, 1966, the place belonged to the Weidenau office and was incorporated into the city of Siegen.

Attractions
Chapel school
When, after 60 years, the school had to be rebuilt, the Trupbach Chapel School, which still exists today, was built in 1739. In the 1750s, a new bell was cast for 12 guilders. In 1870 the chapel school was extensively rebuilt. The dividing wall between the school and chapel hall was removed, the building got large windows and the entrance door was relocated. Parts of the half-timbered wall were renewed. The chapel school continued to teach until 1928. From 1776 to around 1900 there was a clock on the bell tower, and the building was also used for meeting sports clubs and church activities. Then the students were taught in the new building of the "Scheidschule". During the Second World War , the National Socialists established themselves in the school. The building was badly damaged towards the end of the war. The bell had to be handed in to be melted down years earlier. From 1950 the center of the village was rebuilt or renovated. The slate made in 1870 was removed, and a new bell was donated to the USA by the descendants of a Trupbach emigrant. Today the chapel school is owned by the city and the local heritage association takes care of the building. A mechanism makes the bell ring every hour during the day.
