history

Langenholdinghausen was first mentioned in a document on May 1, 1277 as "Holdinkusin". According to this document, the knight Hermann von Wilnsdorf donated his goods in Holdinghausen to the Keppel monastery . The settlement of the local area goes back to the 7th or 8th century.

In the second half of the 15th century the place grew strongly. The village expanded in the direction of Meiswinkel, on the right side of the stream an upper village was created, which developed into the center of the village. Langenholdinghausen was the second largest village in the parish in 1563.

Langenholdinghausen belonged to the Freudenberg office and was incorporated into the newly founded city of Hüttental on July 1, 1966, which was incorporated into the city of Siegen on January 1, 1975.
