Offa is a city in the state of Kwara in southwest Nigeria with 113,841 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2005).
history
The city dates back to a Yoruba settlement around the year 1000 .
economy
Offa is a major agricultural trading center for grain , yams , manioc , corn , sorghum , sheaf nuts, cattle , goats , sheep and poultry .
The most important industry is the textile industry , especially the dyeing of textiles with natural colors from local production.
traffic
The city is on the railway line from Lagos to Kano and Nguru and has road connections to the north of the country to Ilorin and to the south to Oshogbo .
