An important stage in the development of the university was the implementation of the educational experiment - the initiation of the F-study. This innovation was jointly approved by both the Ministry of Education and the Academy of Sciences of Ukraine. With this, the University of "Ukraine" became the first university which introduced the European educational standards in relation to the technology of the study of the disabled.

On February 24, 2004 the first local center for F-studies was established in the city of Polonnje (Khmelnitsky region). Another 16 regional centers for remote-controlled teaching and over 300 local centers were added later. Building 2, which houses the Faculty of Engineering Technologies and the Institute for Auto Service, was completed in 2008.

In 2009–2010, 5 faculties were reorganized into institutes in the basic structure of the University of Kiev. 6 institutes and a faculty are currently working here, including 38 chairs and 28 graduate chairs. Scientific activity and international relations

The international contacts of the University of "Ukraine" aim at integration into the European research and education process. The priorities are the development of educational technologies with the simultaneous social, educational, psychological and physical rehabilitation of students with special needs. In this field, the University of "Ukraine" also exchanges experiences with colleagues from the United States of America, since in America and other developed European countries more and more attention is paid to the problems of people with limited opportunities. This problem has become the main objective of the cooperation between the University of Ukraine and foreign colleagues. The collaboration between the university's teaching staff and Prof. Rawer-Lampman ( Fulbright Program , USA) on improving the educational support for disabled students was very successful in this regard . As part of this program, many meetings were organized with representatives of the US Embassy in Ukraine, which helped to improve the job opportunities of disabled students. This is particularly true of the students who are studying for the Democracy Development Fund of the US Embassy in Ukraine. While this project was being carried out, training courses were held for students with disabilities to help them find work and improve themselves further. The University of "Ukraine" actively cooperates with Professor K. Zaininger (USA), he often gives lectures for university staff and students. The exchange of scientific and methodological materials is carried out systematically with colleagues from abroad. These are Professor P.Mittler (Great Britain), Lecturer M.Koni Weischaap (USA), Doctor J.Klaus (Germany), E. Lindberg, B. Lenton (Sweden) and other well-known teachers from Europe and America. Not only the university, but also the faculties and chairs expand their international relations. The Chair of Management works actively with the Information Analysis Center of the US Embassy in Ukraine. In the last few years international conferences “Internet for Teachers”, “Marketing in USA”, “Ethics of the Librarian” have been held. They also work with the UN program (UN-Ukraine).

students life

Students have the opportunity to develop both during their studies and in their free time. The self-administration, sports culture and teachers of the university all contribute to this.

At the university, the cultural center operates with a theater studio and dance and singing ensembles. Various traditional and religious festivals are celebrated at the university. Beauty contests and nightclub visits are also held here. A student wedding is usually celebrated on Saint Valentine's Day. On the International Day of the Disabled, the festival "Hope Bearers" is held at the university. These festivals give students with special needs the opportunity to develop creatively. The festival unites students from many universities. In addition, such festive days as Student Day, Teacher's Day, Defender of the Homeland Day, and traditional festivals such as St. Nicholas Day and Cossack Festival are celebrated. The highlight of the university's artistic life is the “Student Summer” festival, in which students from other universities in the country also take part. Students take part in Spartakiads, the days of health, games and competitions for the youth. The university students also launched the sports festival for the disabled, which is now enjoying international recognition. The University of "Ukraine" also promotes its student athletes with physical disabilities: among the students of the university there are many winners of Ukrainian and international sports competitions, including 15 winners of the Paralympic Games .
