Nordsee One is an offshore wind park with 54 wind turbines in the German exclusive economic zone of the North Sea . It is operated by Nordsee One GmbH , a merger of the two energy companies Northland Power and RWE . The main owner with 85% of the shares is Northland Power.
An annual standard energy capacity of approx. 1200 GWh or a good 3600 full load hours is expected .
location
The wind farm is located around 35 kilometers north of the island of Juist in the southern North Sea. It extends over a total area of approx. 41.3 km² with water depths of 25 to 34 meters. The mean wind speed on site is approx. 9.8 m / s.
History and construction
At the request of the then ENOVA Energieanlagen GmbH in Hamburg on June 6, 2006, following the amendment request of March 9, 2011, the responsible Federal Maritime and Hydrographic Agency (BSH) set up and operated 54 wind turbines (WEA) including ancillary facilities for the Innogy North Sea 1 GmbH approved on April 4, 2012 on the basis of the Marine Facilities Ordinance .
The start of construction of the offshore work was initially planned for the beginning of 2016, but took place a few weeks before this date on December 15, 2015. In April 2016, all 54 foundations were installed. The transformer platform was built in summer 2016 . The park-internal connection of the individual systems with each other and with the transformer platform with the medium-voltage cables intended for 33 kV was completed in September 2016. The first two turbines in the wind farm were installed by the MPI Enterprise installation ship in March 2017 . According to Innogy, the remaining preparatory work for the systems was completed in March 2017. At the end of August 2017, 52 of the 54 wind turbines were installed. The last turbine was finally installed on September 22, 2017.
After the individual wind turbines had been in operation since September 2017, trial operation was transferred to commercial operation in December 2017.
As part of the swap between RWE , E.ON and innogy , all of innogy's generating facilities and holdings in such plants were transferred to RWE in September 2019.
Wind turbines
54 Senvion 6.2M126 wind turbines are used, each with a rotor diameter of 126 meters and a nominal output of 6.15 MW . The total height of the systems is approx. 152 meters above LAT . The total output of all systems is 332.1 MW. They were erected on monopile foundations with transition pieces. The systems each have a weight of over 600 tons, 335 tons of which are for the gondola alone. An operating period of at least 25 years is planned.
Network connection
The wind turbines are connected to a transformer platform in the wind farm via medium-voltage cables , which transforms the three-phase alternating current (three-phase current) from 33 kV to high voltage of 155 kV. From there, the electricity is fed to the DolWin2 offshore HVDC system operated by the transmission system operator Tennet TSO via a submarine cable connection . The Gode Wind I and Gode Wind II offshore wind farms are also connected to the DolWin beta converter platform . After conversion to direct current , the transmission takes place over 135 km (45 km of which are submarine cables and 90 km of underground cables ) to the converter station Dörpen / West near Heede (Emsland) .
Due to cable faults , the DolWin 2 system installed in October 2016 could not go into regular operation until mid-2017.

The service station for the wind farm for monitoring and controlling the systems at sea is located in a building in Norden - Norddeich that went into operation in September 2016 .
