Ohndorf

Ohndorf is a district of the municipality of Hohnhorst in the district of Schaumburg in Lower Saxony . Together with the communities of Haste and Suthfeld and the city of Bad Nenndorf , Hohnhorst forms the joint community of Nenndorf . On January 1, 2017, 411 residents lived here.

Geographical location

Ohndorf is about 27 kilometers west of Hanover. In the west, the Rodenberger Aue delimits the village. In the north is the Mittelland Canal at a distance of 2.5 km .

traffic

The Berlin - Hanover - Ruhr area railway line runs north of the town . A S-Bahn line from Hanover to Minden was set up on this route for the Hanover Expo . This connection can be used via the Haste train station. Hanover can be reached in about 35 minutes. The public transport is handled by a line of the Schaumburger Verkehrs-Gesellschaft . In addition, the Bad Nenndorf citizen bus serves one stop.

history

Ohndorf was first mentioned in a document in 1289. Based on the foundations and the baptismal font of an old chapel , a longer existence of the place can be attested.

The community files from 1893 report the purchase of a hand pressure syringe for the place. In 1925 Ohndorf had 426, 1933 and 1939 each with 393 inhabitants.

On March 1, 1974 Ohndorf was incorporated into the municipality of Hohnhorst.

Thanks to the active commitment of the village community, the village has received several awards in the past few years in the competition “ Our village should be more beautiful ”.
