There is no way out , an American action film by director Robert Harmon with Jean-Claude Van Damme in the role of Sam Gillen and Rosanna Arquette as Clydie Anderson.
action
The convicted bank robber Sam Gillen is taken to a detention center somewhere in the American Midwest on a prison bus. His former partner Billy manages to free him during this transport, where Billy is shot by a guard. On his escape, Sam finds shelter on a remote farm where the attractive widow Clydie lives with her two young children. But the rural idyll is deceptive. The unscrupulous financial and real estate shark Hale and his helpers tyrannize the young woman and use brutal violence to urge her to sell her property in order to build a recreation area there. Sam, who is now attracted to the young widow, acts immediately despite his past. A merciless struggle breaks out between him and the financial syndicate. Clydie's lover is the local sheriff who is also receiving money from the syndicate. He ties his rival at gunpoint on the farm, beats him up and orders him to disappear because he knows his identity, which he also calls Clydie. Despite her love affair with Sam, she wants Sam to leave the farm. Sam is recognized and followed by the police on the way. Clydie is forced to sign by force, but this is not enough for the real estate shark, he wants to burn down Clydie's property to be on the safe side. Sam, who has returned to the farm, can step in just in time. The pursuing sheriffs arrest him and Hale. Clydie wants to wait for Sam to be released; the local sheriff testify in his favor for what he did for Clydie.

(As of January 5, 2017)
"Perfectly designed entertainment hit that combines action and soulful elements with brutality and uses the cleansing of the bank robber for a questionable illustration of the principle of atonement and rehabilitation."
