Oksana Anatolyevna Dorodnova

Oksana Anatoljewna Dorodnowa ( Russian Оксана Анатольевна Дороднова ; born April 14, 1974 in Moscow ) is a Russian rower who took part in the Olympic Games four times.

Athletic career

The 1.78 m wide Oksana Dorodnowa won in 1992 in the quadruple sculls at the Junior World Championships . In 1993 and 1994 she took fifth place with the double fours at the world championships in the adult class. At the unofficial U23 World Championships , she won the bronze medal in the double scull in 1995. In contrast, she started at the 1995 World Championships in double sculls , but only finished 13th. At the 1996 Olympic Games , Dorodnowa rowed again in the double foursome, which won the B final and thus finished seventh.

After a fourth place at the 1997 World Championships , the Russian double scull with Oksana Dorodnowa, Julija Lewina , Larissa Merk and Inna Moissejewa won the silver medal behind the German boat at the 1998 World Championships in Cologne . In the following year the German double foursome won again at the 1999 World Championships , behind the Ukrainians Oksana Dorodnowa, Julija Levina, Larissa Merk and Olga Samulenkowa received the bronze medal. At the Olympic Games in Sydney in 2000 , the Germans won the double fours ahead of the British women, while the bronze went to Dorodnowa, Irina Fedotowa , Levina and Merk.

After a two-year break, Dorodnowa returned to the double fours in 2003. At the World Championships in Milan , the boat took eighth place. In the final of the 2004 Olympic Regatta , Julija Levina, Larissa Merk, Anna Sergejewa and Oksana Dorodnowa crossed the finish line in fifth place. After the doping disqualification of the originally third-placed Ukrainians, the Russian four-four moved up to fourth place. In 2005 the quadruple competed with Olga Samulenkowa, Oksana Dorodnowa, Larissa Merk and Irina Fedotowa and won the bronze medal behind the British and the Germans. At the 2006 World Championships , the Russian double scull won with the same line-up as last year. However, the title was stripped of the Russians after Olga Samulenkova was convicted of doping. After a tenth place at the 2007 World Championships and seventh place at the 2008 Olympic Games , Dorodnowa won the silver medal at the 2008 European Championships with the Russian four-four at the end of her career .
