Okshtun i Madh is a small village in the east of Albania . It is located in the municipality of Bulqiza ( Komuna Ostren until 2015 ) in the Qark Dibra at an altitude of approx. 850  m above sea level. A. , remote in the mountains of Golloborda between Dibra and Librazhd .

A Bulgarian or Macedonian minority of Muslim faith is said to have lived in the village . Slavonic is no longer spoken there today.

From 2014 to 2017, a 60 meter high concrete dam was built south of the village on the Okshtun River . The machine house is about seven kilometers further north. There are a few more new hydropower plants on the river . With the construction of the power plant, the region was also made accessible by a good road.

In June 2015 a maximum temperature of 28 ° C and in January 2014 a maximum temperature of –10 ° C was measured. The highest amount of precipitation was measured in November 2019 with 354 mm.
