The Oktoberrajon ( Russian Октябрьский район , Oktjabrski rajon) is the name of a former administrative district of the city of Kaliningrad (Königsberg (Prussia) ), the capital of the Russian Oblast Kaliningrad .
Geographical location
The Oktoberrajon Kaliningrad was north of the Pregel (Russian: Pregolja) in the west of the city and enclosed an area of 41 km² with 43,300 inhabitants. It bordered in the west on the rural community Pereslavskoje (Drugehnen) in Zelenogradsk Raion , in the north on the Central Rajon , in the east on the Leningrad Raion and in the south on the Baltic Raion .
history
On July 25, 1945, four administrative districts were formed in the city of Kaliningrad: the Baltic Rajon , Leningrad Rajon , Moscow Rajon and Stalingrad Rajon. In 1952 the Central Rajon was detached from the Stalingrad Rajon .
The Stalingrad Rajon was renamed Octoberrajon in 1961.
On June 29, 2009, the five then existing city districts were reclassified into three. While the Baltic Rajon became part of the Moscow Rajon, the Octoberrajon, after 48 years of existence, was incorporated into the Zentralrajon, which is now the size of the former Stalingrad Rajon.
Integrated former districts of Königsberg
