Ola Ray (born August 26, 1960 in St. Louis , Missouri ) is an American film actress and former model .

Life

Ray's parents divorced early on, so she spent the first 15 years of her life in Japan with her mother, a nurse , and stepfather, a member of the United States Air Force . Here she sang in a rock band and occasionally stood in front of the camera as a model . In 1975 Ray moved to Hollywood , where she was hoping for a career as an actress and singer.

Ray first attracted attention in 1980 when she was seen as the playmate of the adult magazine Playboy in June . A year later, in 1981, she appeared in Body and Soul , a drama film directed by George Bowers . After other films, in which Ray was mostly seen in supporting roles, including 1983 in A Man Like Dynamite at the side of Charles Bronson , the international breakthrough came in the same year. In Michael Jackson's legendary music video Thriller, she played the friend of the King of Pop .

Despite the notoriety Ray now enjoyed, the film producers' interest in the actress quickly waned. After a few film and series appearances, including 1985 in the sitcom Cheers , came 1987, after the production of Beverly Hills Cop II , the sudden end.

In the early 1990s she came into contact with drugs; In 1992, she was even arrested by the police for possession of cocaine . She then spent nine months in an addiction clinic in Tarzana, California.

Today Ola Ray lives in Sacramento . She is in a relationship with Terry Clark, a cameraman for CBS , and has had a daughter with him since 1995. Occasionally she is still active as a singer.
