Olaf Friedrich Eckehard Anders (born December 3, 1944 in Gaffron ) is a German medic .

Life

Olaf Anders was born as the son of Friedrich Anders, who worked in the service of the Reich until 1945 and then in the mining industry , as well as his wife Gertrud Anders, née Hofmann. He graduated from high school in Kamenz in 1963 and began studying human medicine at the Ernst-Moritz-Arndt University of Greifswald the following year , graduating in 1970. He was a military doctor for the next five years. In 1971 he was at the University of Greifswald with the thesis The behavior of blood glucose and free fatty acids to carbohydrate load with special emphasis on lipid metabolism in hepatitis infektiosa ill children to Dr. med. PhD .

Anders worked in the field of internal medicine at the Rostock Südstadt district hospital from 1976 to 1979. Afterwards he worked at the clinic of the University of Rostock in the field of internal medicine in the department of hematology and oncology , since 1989 as senior physician . In that year he also received the Schilling Prize of the Society for Hematology and Blood Transfusion of the GDR. In 1988 he completed his habilitation at the University of Rostock with the habilitation thesis on hemostasis disorders in acute leukemia in adults , but initially did not give any lectures, but continued to work at the clinic. From 1991 to 1997 Anders organized and directed the annual training course in clinical hemostaseology. From 1992 to 1994 he was the managing director of the department of hematology and oncology at the university hospital, and for the following four years he was a member of the scientific advisory board of the German Haemophilia Society. Since 1998, the annual training has been led by an organizational and scientific committee, Anders sits on the committee.

In 1997 the University of Rostock finally appointed him extraordinary professor . He held this position and his work in the university hospital until 2001. In the following year he joined the ethics committee of the Medical Association M-V and became senior physician at the Clinic for Internal Medicine in Südstadt Rostock.

Anders is also a member of the German Society for Thrombosis and Haemostasis Research, the German Society for Hematology and Oncology, the Society of Internists MV and the German Haemophilia Society. He dealt with hereditary and acquired disorders of blood coagulation , with hemorrhagic diatheses , with the pathophysiology of hemostasis disorders in leukemia and tumors , with thrombophilic diathesis and with immune-mediated disorders of hemostasis.
