Olaf Kemmler
Olaf Kemmler (born 1966 in Leverkusen ) is a German science fiction author and editor.
Life
After graduating from high school in 1985, Kemmler initially trained as a bank clerk , but then switched saddles and since then has been working as a graphic designer in an advertising technology company after a distance learning course in advertising graphics .
In 2007, Kemmler began publishing science fiction short stories in magazines and anthologies . Two of his short stories were nominated for the Kurd-Laßwitz Prize . From 2008 he was editor of the science fiction magazine Exodus, published by Blitz Verlag, alongside René Moreau and Heinz Wipperfürth . For this work, he and his colleagues were awarded the “Special Prize for Long-Term Outstanding Achievements in the German-Speaking SF” of the Kurd-Laßwitz Prize in 2015.
The voice of a dead , a local crime thriller from the Bergisches Land , appeared in 2014 . Starting in 2018, Kemmler and Andreas Zwengel wrote six novels for The Adventures of Shalyn Shan , one of the sequel series of Spaceship Promet . In 2019, Kemmler published an art book about Rudolf Sieber-Lonati , one of the most productive cover illustrators of the German magazine novel .
