Olaf Wieghorst
Olaf Wieghorst (born April 30, 1899 in Viborg , † April 27, 1988 in El Cajon , California ) was an American painter .
Life
Olaf Wieghorst came from Denmark and emigrated to the USA in 1918, where he spent the rest of his life. From 1923 to 1944 he worked as a police officer in New York . In 1945 he settled in El Cajon. Wieghorst especially painted motifs from the American West in the style of Frederic Remington and Charles M. Russell .
He also appeared in two westerns , MacLintock (1963) and El Dorado (1966), with John Wayne in supporting roles .
