Blattersleben is a district of the municipality of Priestewitz in the district of Meißen in Saxony .

Geography and transport links

The 349 hectare site is located about three kilometers southwest of the core town of Priestewitz on the K 8554. The Seusslitzer Bach flows south . The Seusslitzer Grund nature reserve extends to the southwest . The Elbe flows a little further west . The B 101 runs to the east .

Blattersleben is located at 217  m above sea level. NHN , which means that if the weather permits, there is a good view in all directions from here. Blattersleben is not far from the Elbe wine villages Seusslitz and Diesbar - Seusslitz on the edge of the Seusslitzer Grund nature reserve , a wildly romantic region that is characterized by its originality.

history

Blattersleben is a village laid out as a narrow street with a cul-de-sac and a strip of land similar to a win . The village was first mentioned in 1277 as Bratersleven . Other forms of the place name over time were: Bratersleiben, Bratirslebin (1350), Bratirsloybin, Bratirsleiben (1378), Bratirslewen (1418), Blatterßleuben (1443), Wratirslobe (1474), Plattersleuben (1518), Blaterßhlobinn (1551) and finally Blattersleben in 1791.

The place, whose size was given as 23 Hufen in 1406, was originally parish to Strießen, but later came to Seusslitz . A school was founded in Blattersleben in 1833. At that time, Blattersleben had about 130 residents. In 1846 the local school was expanded and rebuilt again in 1905.

On July 1, 1950, the neighboring municipality of Porschütz was incorporated into Blattersleben. Blattersleben has been part of the Priestewitz community since January 1, 1994 .

Culture and sights

Several historical monuments and buildings are recorded in the local list of monuments. One of the most striking buildings in the village is the former village inn at Bergstrasse 15 , which today functions as a village community center with a bowling alley and hall. The building with an angular floor plan is a two-story plastered building with a gable roof, the construction of which is dated to around 1870.

Two side buildings of a four-sided courtyard are listed on the property at Bergstrasse 13 . In them there are two historical Kumthallen. The building was constructed in the middle of the 19th century. At Bergstrasse 26 there is a side building of a three-sided courtyard that was partly built in half-timbered construction in the first half of the 19th century.

There is also a transformer house in the village, which is also a listed building on Bergstrasse . This building was erected in the first half of the 20th century.

The sports club SV "Grün Weiß" Blattersleben is one of the active clubs in the village .

economy

Among other things, the Blattersleben agricultural cooperative is based in the village , which, according to its own information, cultivates around 1,000 hectares of agricultural land and specializes in animal production in pig and cattle fattening. In addition, the seat of the family business Obsthof Ibisch has been located here since 1990 . This company currently cultivates an area of ​​36 hectares. The cultivation focus is on apple, strawberry and asparagus production.
