Oleh Kalashnikov Iwanowytsch ( Ukrainian Олег Іванович Калашніков * 6. November 1962 in Rivne , Ukrainian SSR ; † 15. April 2015 in Kiev ) was a Ukrainian politician . He belonged to the Party of Regions and was a member of the Ukrainian parliament .

Life

Kalashnikov belonged to the Verkhovna Rada from May 25, 2006 to November 23, 2007. During the Euromaidan protests in 2013/2014, he was critical of them and appeared in a counter-event called " Anti-Maidan " in Kiev in winter 2013 .

On April 15, 2015, he was shot dead in his Kiev home. During the investigation into his apartment, the police found large amounts of cash, numerous valuable weapons and three luxury limousines (Mercedes-Benz, Aston Martin and Rolls-Royce) in the garage. He was buried on April 18, 2015 in the Berkovetsky Cemetery in Kiev.

His death is mentioned in connection with a number of deaths in 2015 , the confidante of former Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych fell victim. According to information from the authorities, these were mostly suicides or accidents. Only in the case of Kalashnikov and the journalist Oles Busyna , who is critical of the government, are the Ukrainian authorities assuming attacks. A group named after the Ukrainian Insurgent Army assumed responsibility for these two murders. However, the Ukrainian domestic intelligence service SBU assumes a fake. Two days before Oleh Kalashnikov's murder, his personal information was posted on the Mirotvorets website . It was known that both Kalashnikov and Busina were to appear as witnesses in an investigation into the anti-Maidan protests in favor of the then state power and that traces of them could lead to Moscow.
