Berkovetsky Cemetery

The cemetery was established in 1957 and is located in the northwest of Podil Rajon in the west of the metropolis. The main entrance is on Wulyzja Stezenka ( вулиця Стеценка ) 18. On an area of ​​152 hectares there are more than 200,000 graves, which are also burial sites of numerous public figures in Ukraine, including more than 42 heroes of the Soviet Union , famous artists, Footballers and doctors, are.

On December 7, 1970 the funeral of the murdered painter and dissident Alla Horska took place in the cemetery , which became a protest against the existing communist regime in Ukraine.

On April 18 and 19, 2015, the two assassination victims Oleh Kalashnikov and Oles Busyna were buried in the cemetery.
