Oleh Romanovyč Lužnyj ( Ukrainian Оле́г Рома́нович Лу́жний , scientific transliteration Oleh Romanovyč Lužnyj ; born August 5, 1968 in Lviv , Ukrainian SSR ) is a Ukrainian football coach and former Soviet- Ukrainian football player .

During his active time he played in defense and from 1985 to 2004 scored a total of thirteen goals in 460 games for the clubs: Torpedo Lutsk (Div 2), Karpaty Lviv (Div 1), Dynamo Kiev , Arsenal FC and Wolverhampton Wanderers, and as a player-coach at the Latvian club FK Venta in Kuldīga .

He also played 60 international matches (8 for the USSR , 52 for Ukraine ), but did not score a single goal. After FK Venta, which he headed as player-coach, he first worked for Dynamo Kiev as an assistant to József Szabó , after his retirement due to health problems in early November 2007, he acted as interim head coach. On June 15, 2013 Luzhny was dismissed as coach of Tavrija Simferopol .
