Oleh Pantschuk

Oleh Elpydeforowytsch Pantschuk ( Ukrainian Олег Эльпидефорович Панчук , English transcription Oleh Panchuk ; * July 17, 1932 ) is a Ukrainian chemist and professor at the National Yuri Fedkovich University in Chernivtsi .

Life

From 1949 Panchuk studied chemistry at the Chernivtsi State University . In 1953 he graduated with a bachelor's degree and in 1954 a Master of Science degree . From 1954 to 1957 he was an aspirant at the Institute for Physical Chemistry . To at A. Pamfilov 1958 Ph. D. doctorate , he spent three years engineer of the institute. In 1961 he became an assistant, and in 1965 assistant professor at the Institute for Inorganic Chemistry . There he completed his habilitation in 1988. Since then he has been a professor and has supervised more than 100 doctoral theses , three Dr. sc. - and four Ph.D. doctoral candidates. He has been involved in the development of solar cells for almost half a century .

After receiving a scholarship from 1996 to 1999, he is the supervisor of the Copernicus scholarship holders .

politics

Panchuk has been involved in Ukrainian politics since January 1989 , first in the Society for the Ukrainian Language, then from August 1989 as a board member of the regional Narodni Ruch , which he headed from 1990 to 1994.

Between 1989 and 2010 he published 40 political articles and essays. The last publication appeared in January 2010. The title ER und SIE referred to the presidential candidates Viktor Yanukovych and Yulia Tymoshenko .

Interests

In addition to politics, Panchuk is interested in literature and philately . He speaks seven languages: Ukrainian , Russian , English , French , German , Polish and Romanian .

Until 2010 he was director of the Bukovina Center.
