Olena Schupijewa-Vjasowa

Olena Schupiyeva-Vyazova ( Ukrainian Олена Жупієва-В'язова , English transcription Olena Zhupiyeva-Vyazova ; born April 18, 1960 in Arkhangelsk ) is a Ukrainian long-distance runner .

The athlete, who started for the former Soviet Union , won silver in the 10,000 meter run at the World Athletics Championships in Rome in 1987, behind Ingrid Kristiansen (NOR) and ahead of Kathrin Ullrich (GDR).

At the Olympic Games in Seoul in 1988 she also won the bronze medal in the 10,000 m behind Olga Bondarenko (URS) and Liz McColgan (GBR).

In 1993 she won the 10- mile Grand Prix of Bern .
