Olga Sergejewna Akopjan ( Russian Ольга Сергеевна Акопян ; born March 4, 1985 in Volgograd , Soviet Union , born Olga Sergejewna Levina ) is a former Russian handball player .
Career
Akopjan was under contract with Russian first division club GK Dynamo Volgograd from 2002 to 2015 . From the summer of 2012, the backcourt player paused for a year in which she married and gave birth to a daughter. With Dynamo Volgograd she won the Russian championship in 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012 and 2014, and the EHF Cup in 2008 . In the summer of 2015, Akopjan GK Lada Tolyatti joined.
Olga Akopjan is a member of the Russian national team . With Russia, the right-hander won the World Cup in France in 2007 and China in 2009 . She also won the silver medal at the 2008 European Championships and the bronze medal at the 2008 European Championships . In summer 2012 she took part in the Olympic Games in London . She won the gold medal at the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro . Then she ended her career.
Akopjan has been working as an assistant coach at the Russian first division club PGK CSKA Moscow since summer 2019 .
