Olival Basto is a municipality in the Portuguese district of Odivelas in the Lisbon district . It covers an area of ​​1.36 km² and has 5840 inhabitants (as of June 30, 2011).

location

Olival Basto is located on the northern outskirts of Lisbon in the immediate vicinity of the northern CRIL motorway bypass . Neighboring communities are Póvoa de Santo Adrião and Odivelas (both Odivelas district), Camarate and Frielas (both Loures district) and Ameixoeira and Lumiar (Lisbon).

history

The place experienced its greatest growth between 1940 and 1960 and then from 1980. In 1989, Olival Basto was separated from Póvoa de Santo Adrião and became its own freguesia , which on June 5, 1997 was elevated to a vila (small town) .
