Oliver Gratzer (born June 27, 1974 in Steyr , Upper Austria ) is an Austrian strongman and photographer . Gratzer is the holder of several world records.

Life

After an apprenticeship as a cook, Oliver Gratzer developed a preference for weight training at a young age and was able to win several state and state championships in powerlifting or take podium places in the early 1990s. In 1998, at the invitation of Otto Wanz , he took part in the "AUSTRIAN GIANT", which was looking for the strongest man in Austria, and ultimately achieved 3rd place straight away as the best rookie .

After ten successful years in international strongman sport, Oliver Gratzer has been known to a wide audience in numerous television shows with spectacular appearances since 2008. In 2008 and 2016, for example, he had the well-known ZDF presenter Dunja Hayali jump from a 70 m high crane bungy, holding the rope with just the strength of his hands and securing an entry in the Guinness Book of Records. In 2009 and 2013, the famous TV chef Johann Lafer landed with his helicopter on Oliver Gratzer, who withstood a weight of over 650 kg on his shoulders.

To date, Oliver Gratzer has set 7 world records for Guinness World Records and Record Holders Republic. In the Oliver Geissen Show in 2008, Gratzer set a new world record in throwing ovens. In 2011, Gratzer Andre Rieu and his 50 musicians pulled 20 meters in a bus and carried four washing machines with a total weight of 380 kilograms 20 meters. Gratzer had numerous guest appearances as a strongman, including on ZDF Fernsehgarten or on the ORF television program Tom Turbo by Thomas Brezina .

Oliver Gratzer has been intensively involved with photography since 2010. From 2012 to 2015 he completed his photography training at the Prague School of Photography and has been working as a freelance photographer ever since.
