Oliver Kraft (Manager)

Oliver Kraft (born December 13, 1962 in Offenbach am Main ) is a German business IT specialist . From February 2010 to April 2013 he was CEO of DB Netz AG .

Career

He finished his studies in business informatics at the TH Darmstadt in 1989 with a diploma and then took on a consulting position at KPMG . Activities at PricewaterhouseCoopers and Fresenius followed .

In 1998, Kraft moved to Deutsche Bahn, where he carried out commercial activities and was responsible for infrastructure planning and projects. Subsequently, from 2001 to 2002 he was commercial director and spokesman for the southern branch, from 2002 to 2004 business area manager for regional networks .

On February 1, 2006, he was appointed to the Management Board of DB Netz AG for the new network investments, long-distance and metropolitan network. He later became head of production. Oliver Kraft had made the network division, which manages the 34,000 km long network, the largest profit maker in the group. In mid-February 2010 he was appointed CEO of the company with immediate effect. At the turn of the month, Ralph-Peter Hänisch took his place as Chief Production Officer. Kraft took over the position of Volker Kefer , who had been brought into the new position of the technical director of the Deutsche Bahn AG by railway boss Rüdiger Grube . In this role he introduced, among other things, noise-dependent train path prices .

In mid-March 2013, his surprising recall was announced. According to a newspaper report, differing views on the strategy were the reason for this. At the same time, DB Netz HR Director Hans-Otto Umlandt was dismissed. On April 30, 2013, he resigned his management board mandate “by mutual agreement” and left the company. His successor at the head of DB Netz was Frank Sennhenn . Bahn boss Grube said in an interview in mid-2013 that the company was not satisfied with its work. There were "a number of points" that were "not in order". This also led to personnel decisions at DB Netz. In June 2013 it became known that before his resignation, Kraft had campaigned for a larger part of the profit from the infrastructure to remain in the division. With this, the manager on the DB board encountered resistance. He pointed out early on that the planning for the renewal of the 9000 bridges, which are now more than 100 years old, must begin and the financing must be secured.

From November 1, 2013 to the beginning of 2015, Kraft was Managing Director of the House of Logistics and Mobility (HOLM) in Frankfurt.

On April 1, 2015, Oliver Kraft was appointed spokesman for the management of voestalpine BWG GmbH, a company producing railway switches.

In October 2015, Oliver Kraft graduated from the University of Wuppertal with a Dr.-Ing. is doing his doctorate on the subject of a model for calculating the economically optimal combination of noise protection measures .
