Oliver Petersch is the brother of Daniel Petersch, who is also active as a football player.
Career
In the club
Youth stations and entry into senior football
Oliver Petersch started playing soccer at SV Wolsfeld before moving to Bayer 04 Leverkusen in 2001 via FC Bitburg . Here he went through the youth departments and won the German A youth championship in 2007 and the DFB junior club cup in 2008 . In the 2008/09 season he became part of the second senior team and established himself as a regular player in the Regionalliga West .
Change to Rot-Weiß Oberhausen
In 2009, however, he left the club and joined Rot-Weiß Oberhausen on a free transfer . Here he made his professional debut on the first matchday of the second division season 2009/10 when he played through in the 3-0 defeat against 1. FC Union Berlin . In the first half of the season he was a regular and was in 14 of 17 games in the starting line-up, but was also substituted 11 times. The first two games in the second half series he played for the full 90 minutes, but after that he was only used as a substitute from the 21st to the 28th matchday and then had to end the season early due to back problems.
Change to Eintracht Braunschweig
After RWO was relegated from the 2nd Bundesliga in the summer of 2011, Petersch signed a two-year contract with second division promoted Eintracht Braunschweig and thus remained in the second highest German division. He had his first second division game for BTSV on the first day of play against TSV 1860 Munich in the Eintracht Stadium. He came into play in the 75th minute for Mirko Boland . The game was won 3-1. In the 2011/12 season, Petersch missed the entire first half of the season due to an inflammation of the pubic bone . In the second half of the season he played eleven games, scored one goal and at the end of the season rose to the Bundesliga with Eintracht.
Moved to Arminia Bielefeld
For the 2013/14 season, Petersch moved to the second division promoted Arminia Bielefeld , where he received a contract until June 2015. Since this was only valid for the second division and Arminia was relegated, he left the club and ended his career in October 2014.
