Oliver Warner

Oliver Warner (* 1903 ; † August 14, 1976 in Haslemere ) was a British naval historian and writer.

Live and act

Warner studied at the University of Cambridge , worked as a journalist and was from 1926 editor at the Chatto and Windus publishing house. After the war he was Associate Director of Publications for the British Council . In 1963 he retired and devoted himself entirely to writing.

He published several works on naval history, including Horatio Nelson and his naval battles, as well as Carl Gustaf Emil Mannerheim , Admiral Collingwood , James Wolfe , Frederick Marryat and George Monck , among others .
