Olivier Martinez (born January 12, 1966 in Paris ) is a French film actor .

Life

Martinez's father is of Spanish origin. His father was a Spanish professional boxer who was born in Morocco . His mother, a French woman, was a secretary. Martinez studied acting at the Conservatoire national supérieur d'art dramatique (CNSAD).

His acting career began in France in 1990, where he quickly became very successful. In 1994 he won the César for Best Young Actor for his role in Un, Deux, Trois, Soleil (1993). He became internationally known in a leading role alongside Diane Lane in Unfaithful (2002). His German voice in this film is the actor Frédéric Vonhof . Since then, he has appeared in the TV adaptation of Mrs. Stone and Her Roman Spring (2003) and in the action films S.WAT - Die Spezialeinheit (2003) and Taking Lives (2004).

Martinez lived with the French actress Juliette Binoche for three years . He was in a relationship with the Australian pop singer Kylie Minogue for several years . Both announced the separation on February 3, 2007. He was married to Halle Berry since July 13, 2013 , after they met in 2010 while filming Dark Tide . Their son was born on October 5, 2013. In October 2015, Berry and Martinez announced their divorce.
