Olivier Vodoz

Olivier Vodoz (born  September 10, 1943 in Vevey ) is a Swiss lawyer and politician . He was a member of the Grand Conseil for the Liberal Party from 1977 to 1989 and of the Conseil d'État of the Canton of Geneva from 1989 to 1997 . He has been a member of the International Committee of the Red Cross since 1998 and Vice-President since 2006 .

biography

Olivier Vodoz was born in Vevey in 1943 and attended the Collège Calvin in Geneva from 1960 to 1964 . He then completed a law degree at the University of Geneva , which he graduated with a licentiate in 1967 . Until 1989 he worked as a resident attorney in the law firm Haissly & Vodoz in Geneva .

From 1977 to 1989 he represented the Liberal Party in the Grand Conseil , the parliament of the canton of Geneva . From 1989 to 1997 he was a State Councilor in the Conseil d'État , where he held the office of President from 1994/1995 and temporarily headed the Finance Department and the Military Department. Since March 1998 he has been a member of the Board of Directors of Union Bancaire Privée and since April 1999 of Banque Heritage . In addition, he was a member of the Board of Directors of Helvetia Insurance from 2001 to 2008 .

In 1998 he was co-opted as a member of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) , of which he has served as one of two vice-presidents since January 2006.

Olivier Vodoz is married and has two children.
