Ollie Hancock

Ollie Hancock (born August 25, 1987 in Windsor , Berkshire ) is a British racing driver . He is the brother of racing driver Sam Hancock .

Career

Hancock began his motorsport career in karting at the age of eight , but only took part in five races due to financial problems. In 2003 he moved to the Formula racing and went into the winter series of the Classic Formula Ford 2000 at. In 2004 Hancock started in the regular championship and became runner-up. Since he was unable to take part in any racing series as a racing driver due to budget problems in 2005, he took on the duties of a mechanic for a team in the British Formula Renault in order to improve his technical skills. In 2006 Hancock returned to the racing cockpit and was again runner-up in the Classic Formula Ford 2000.

In 2007 Hancock switched to BARC Formula Renault. He won a race and finished the championship in third place. Another season in the BARC Formula Renault followed in 2008, in which Hancock won five races. With 130 to 101 points he prevailed against Johannes Seidlitz and won the championship title. He then took part in the winter series of the British Formula Renault and took tenth place.

In 2009 Hancock switched to the British Formula Renault. After just twelve races, Hancock, whose best placement was fourth, had to drop out of the championship due to budget problems. At the end of the season he finished 22nd. After the death of Henry Surtees , Hancock returned to motorsport during the season and replaced his compatriot in the FIA Formula 2 Championship . He took part in the last three race weekends and finished 25th in the drivers' championship with a tenth place as the best result without any points. In 2010, Hancock couldn't find a cockpit for a full season. After all, he only took part in the season finale of the GT4 European Cup. With a win he finished 15th in the championship.
