Right tributaries Silberbach

The Olpe , called Rahrbach in the upper reaches , is the left tributary of the Hundem with the most water , a left tributary of the Lenne . The Olpe is 15.4 km long and runs entirely in the municipality of Kirchhundem in the Olpe district , North Rhine-Westphalia , on the northwestern edge of the Rothaar Mountains .

After a very short source towards the south, the Olpe follows the B 517 towards the northeast via Kruberg , Rahrbach , Welschen Ennest , Benolpe and Hofolpe , and finally flows into the Hundem from the left in the northwest of the core town of Kirchhundem.

Natural spatial importance

From the place Welschen-Ennest, the Olpe represents a natural north-west boundary of the Rothaargebirge , into which various right tributaries flow. Among them, the Silberbach (9.8 km; 18.094 km²) flowing between Benolpe and Hofolpe is by far the longest and richest in water.
