Olschas Baglanowitsch Klimin ( Russian Олжас Багланович Климин ; English Olzhas Klimin ; born August 30, 1996 ) is a Kazakh cross-country skier .

Career

Klimin started in Vershina Tjoi in November 2013 for the first time in the cross-country skiing Eastern Europe Cup and came in 69th place over 10 km classic. His best results at the Nordic Junior World Ski Championships in 2014 in Fiemme Valley were seventh place in the relay and fourth place in the skiathlon . The following year he came in the Nordic Junior World Ski Championships 2015 in Almaty on the 31st place in the sprint, on the 12th place with the relay and on the 11th place over 10 km freestyle. His best placings at the Nordic Junior World Ski Championships 2016 in Rasnov were 27th place over 10 km classic and tenth place with the relay. At the beginning of the 2016/17 season, he made his debut on the mini tour in Lillehammer in the cross-country skiing world cup and finished in 70th place. In January 2017 he won the silver medal with the relay and the gold medal together with Anna Shevchenko in the mixed team sprint at the 2017 Winter Universiade in Almaty . At the Nordic World Ski Championships 2017 in Lahti , he achieved 59th place in the 50 km mass start race, 37th place in the skiathlon and ninth place in the relay. His best results at the Nordic World Ski Championships 2019 in Seefeld in Tirol were 51st place in the sprint and seventh place in the relay. In March 2019, he won the silver medal with the relay at the Winter Universiade in Krasnoyarsk and became the Kazakh champion over 10 km freestyle in Shchuchinsk .
