Olympic / Viking Helsingborg HK is a Swedish handball club from Helsingborg , which was founded in 1994 as a merger of HF Olympia and Vikingarnas IF.
The first men's team played in the 2009/2010 season in the Elitserien and was relegated from bottom of the table in Division 1 . The women's team plays in Division 2.
Vikingarnas IF ( Vikingarnas idrottsförening ) was founded in Helsingborg in 1941. The club won the Swedish championship in 1961 (as a newcomer) and in 1967 and 1981. The most famous player was Rolf Almqvist . HF Olympia ( Handbollsföreningen Olympia ) was founded in 1963 as KFUM Helsingborg, and in 1971 the name Olympia was adopted. For two seasons they belonged to the top division.
