Alingsås HK

Alingsås Handbollsklubb is a Swedish handball club whose men's team plays in the top Swedish league, the Elitserien .

history

The association was founded in 1973 in Alingsås . In the 1998/99 season Alingsås HK was in the semi-finals for the Swedish championship. In the following season Alingsås took part in the EHF Cup , but retired in the first round against the Hungarian representative SC Szeged . In 2002 Alingsås rose because of the penultimate place from the Elitserien. A year later, AHK managed to return to the Elitserien, but could not hold the class.

In 2005 Alingsås HK returned to the Elitserien, in which one has played since then. In 2009 and 2014 the club won the Swedish championship.
