The gymnastics competition at the men's vault at the Olympic Games in Athens in 1896 was held on April 9 in the Panathinaiko Stadium . It was the third gymnastics competition of the Games, in which 15 athletes from 5 nations competed. Olympic champion was the German Carl Schuhmann , ahead of the Swiss Louis Zutter .
