For the first time in history, the 2002 Winter Olympics hosted two-man bobsleigh races for women . The race, which consisted of a total of two runs, was held on February 19th. A total of 15 bobsleighs competed, all of which completed two runs in the Utah Olympic Park .
Olympic champions were the Bob USA II with Jill Bakken and Vonetta Flowers . Silver and bronze went to the two German bobsleighs with Sandra Prokoff and Ulrike Holzner as well as Susi Erdmann and Nicole Herschmann .
