The men's luge singles event at the 2022 Winter Olympics was held on February 5 (Rounds 1 and 2) and February 6 (Rounds 3 and 4) at the Yanqing National Sliding Center .

Johannes Ludwig from Germany became Olympic champion . Silver went to Wolfgang Kindl from Austria and bronze went to Dominik Fischnaller from Italy.

Ludwig was able to demonstrate his strength in the first run. The German improved the start record of the Russian Semyon Pavlitschenko to 2.455 seconds and also set a track record with a time of 57.063 seconds. After the second run, Ludwig remained in the lead with a lead of 0.039 seconds over Kindl. On the second day, the later Olympic champion was able to improve on his track record from the previous day and thus increase his lead over the second-placed Austrian. With 0.113 seconds behind Wolfgang Kindl, Ludwig went into the last round and was able to successfully defend it.

Italy's Kevin Fischnaller was unable to compete due to a COVID-19 infection. The reigning Olympic champion David Gleirscher fell in the third run, but was able to get back on his sled.
