Omer Adam

Omer Adam ( Hebrew עומר אדם; born October 22, 1993 in the United States ) is an American-Israeli singer. His music combines elements of oriental mizrahim and western pop instruments. In 2009 he participated in the seventh season of the talent show Kokhav Nolad ( Hebrew כוכב נולד) part. However, he was disqualified due to uncertainties about his actual age at the time of application. With the song "Tel Aviv" ( Hebrew תל אביב), which was produced as a promotional video for Tel Aviv Pride , it landed a summer hit in Israel in 2013.

In the seventh season of the talent show Kokhav Nolad , Omer Adam sang the following songs:

As a result of his appearances in week 6, the judges first placed him in 3rd place out of 9 for his interpretation of "Aba" and 4th out of 8 for "At Vaani".

Controversy erupted after blogger Omri Hayon revealed at Ynetnews that Adam was only 15 years and seven months old when he applied. The minimum age to apply for the show is 16 years. Adam admitted the allegation was correct and withdrew from the competition in the middle of the season. The show host Zvika Hadar said: “It is important that Omer recognized his mistake, apologized and made the right decision. Our role is to provide equal entry conditions for all competitors and we cannot compromise in this case. Many candidates who came to the auditions were turned down because of their age. ”Omer Adam's disqualification was officially announced on August 5th, 2009, despite being one of the favorites to make it to the finals.

Further career

Despite being kicked out of Kokhav Nolad, Omer Adam enjoyed great public popularity and sympathy, especially on a tour of Israel, where he made more than 150 appearances within a year. At the end of 2009 his debut single "Verlorener Geist" ( Hebrew להיאבד ברוח). This was followed in July 2010 by “Krämerseele” ( Hebrew חוזה בנשמה), the theme song for the television show "Wedding of the Year" ( Hebrew חתונת השנה) of the major Israeli Channel 2 .

The much anticipated debut album was released in December 2010 under the title “Ich schmelze bei Dir” ( Hebrew נמס ממ) including the singles that have already been released and with new songs, such as "I turned in a circle" ( Hebrew נעתי בתוך מעגל), "Cold Night" ( Hebrew בלילה קר) and “Know a tear” ( Hebrew לא תדעי דמעה). He also placed some remixes of his songs on the album.

In 2011 he released his second album "Happy" ( Hebrew מאושרת) out. In March 2011 the first hit of his new album “Ich hab auf Dich” ( Hebrew בניתי עלייך), followed by "Magical" ( Hebrew קסם) as a duet with Itzik Kalla ( Hebrew איציק קלה). In May 2011 his hit "Million Kisses" ( Hebrew מליון נשיקות) with immense online success, followed by “Nah bei Dir” ( Hebrew קרוב אלייך).

On June 15, 2011, he appeared on a live show with thousands of viewers in Caesarea Maritima , a venue on the Israeli coast. He was the youngest artist to be featured as the main act.

On January 29, 2012, he released his second album "Good Boy, Bad Boy" ( Hebrew ילד טוב ילד רע) out. The album's first single was "Suche" ( Hebrew אל תחפשי), followed by "Happy" ( Hebrew מאושרת Meusheret ) and "I counted on you" ( Hebrew בניתי עלייך Baniti Alayich ). He also appeared on the reality show Agents ( Hebrew הסוכנים) of the TV channel HOT Israeli Entertainment ( Hebrew הוט בידור ישראלי) on.

In the summer of 2013 his song "Tel Aviv" ( Hebrew תל אביב). This was originally intended as a promotional video for Tel Aviv Pride , but it actually turns out to be the first summer hit of the year. The accompanying video was shown a lot despite the unusual freedom of movement.

In August 2015 he released his fourth album "Ich danke" ( Hebrew מודה אני), which immediately became very popular.

Private

Omer Adam was born in the United States, where his father served in the Jechidat Schaldag . When Omer was three years old, his family moved to Mishmar HaShiva in Israel. His family descends from mountain Jews on his father's side and from Ashkenazim on his mother's side . His ancestors and relatives include several high-ranking Israeli military officials, including Udi Adam . At the age of 18 he did his military service.
