Ondřej Soukup (born May 2, 1951 in Prague , Czechoslovakia ) is a Czech musician and composer .

biography

Ondřej Soukup graduated from the Prague Conservatory in 1975 with a degree in music . He then played as a bass player in several bands and ensembles, including Pražský výběr with Pavel Fořt. He later composed for Karel Gott before making his debut as a film composer in 1984 with Chess the Resident, staged by Vít Olmer . Soukup was nominated a total of six times for the Czech film award, the Bohemian Lion , where he was awarded for Nejasná zpráva o konci sveta and Dark Blue World .

Soukup is married to the actress Gabriela Osvaldová . They have a son, the musician František Soukup .
