One Fine Day was a rock band from Itzehoe . Most recently it consisted of front man Marten Pulmer, guitarist Hendrik Burkhard, bassist Marco Köhrsen and drummer Erik-Mac Essig.

Band history

The band was founded in 1997 by Marten Pulmer, Hendrik Burkhard and Marco Köhrsen. Back then on drums: Sascha Niemann and on second guitar Torben Petrovic. In 1999, ONE FINE DAY split from Torben Petrovic and Alexander Blazek joined the band. Sascha Niemann got out in 2003 and Roman Rossbach came along, who initially played drums. He switched to lead guitar when Erik-Mac Essig joined as the new drummer. One Fine Day has been playing in the line-up unchanged since 2004.

The first album "all connected" was recorded in 1998. In the following years the EPs "what we share" and "halfway to destiny" were recorded until 2002 with Ulf Nagel as producer the album "how to decide" was recorded in Kiel. All editions were very small editions that were only sold at concerts and via mail order and are no longer available.

In 2004, One Fine Day won the John Lennon Talent Award nationwide against more than 5000 applicant bands and made it into the last 10. This made the Berlin record label Rockhit Records aware of the band. In the same year they embarked on their first German tour with the Brainless Wankers and at the end of 2004 released the album "Faster Than The World" on Rockhit Records. Numerous appearances, festivals and smaller tours through Germany followed.

Henning Wehland from H-Blockx and Anne Kalstrup from the Pinboys can be heard as guest singers on the 2006 album "Damn Right" . This album was produced by Jan-Dirk Poggemann, the bassist of the Donots . Three singles were released from this album: "Damn Right", "Burn" (feat. Henning Wehland ) and "Goodbye Reality". At the end of 2006, together with Dopamine, they supported the band Zebrahead on their tour of Germany.

In January 2007 the band was on tour in Germany, in the summer they performed at various festivals across Germany. a. at Rock am Ring, Rock im Park and the Hurricane Festival. In March 2007 the band also played three showcases at the biggest music fair SXSW in Austin, Texas and since June 20, 2007 the album "Damn Right" has also been in CD stores in Japan via Columbia Music Entertainment. Also in June 2007 the band was in Japan for a few concerts and promotional appearances.

In October 2007 One Fine Day were on the second part of their Damn Right tour and in November 2007 they supported the H-Blockx on their tour. Over the summer of 2008, the band was to be seen at several festivals (including With Full Force, Kieler Woche and World Astra Day).

Since the beginning of 2008 they have been working on their album "One Fine Day", which was released on March 20, 2009 by the Hamburg record company ferryhouse / Warner. The first single released is called "Emily". In January and February 2009, One Fine Day played in support of The Subways on their Germany tour.

On June 9th and 10th, 2009, they were in the RTL soap opera Good Times, Bad Times , where they presented a. a. her new single “Miracle, are you ready?”. In May 2009 One Fine Day was on Part I of the "Emily Value Tour", in which the Pinboys acted as the opening act. Numerous festival appearances followed in Germany and Austria. a. at the Southside Festival and Two Days A Week.

Roman Rossbach left the band at the end of 2009.

Part II of the "Emily Value Tour" followed in October and November 2009. From December 2009 to April 2010 the band worked in Kiel and Stockholm with the Swedish producer Pelle Gunnerfeldt on their sixth album "The Element Rebellion", which was released on October 1, 2010 by ferryhouse / Warner.

In autumn 2010 a tour with Royal Republic followed in the support program of the Donots and in early 2011 the own "The Element Rebellion Tour".

At the beginning of June the band announced their breakup in a video message following a final concert on October 2nd, 2011 in Hamburg.
