One Liberty Place is the name of a 288-meter tall skyscraper in Philadelphia . The building designed by Helmut Jahn and completed in 1987 was the first to tower over the town hall built in 1901 . In 1990 it was supplemented by the architecturally similar, somewhat smaller skyscraper Two Liberty Place . The specially designed pointed roof construction is slightly reminiscent of the Chrysler Building in New York City . It remained Philadelphia's tallest building until 2007 when the Comcast Center reached its full height of 297 meters, surpassing One Liberty Place . Since then it has been the second tallest building in the city.
