The Opština Aračinovo ( Macedonian Општина Арачиново ; Albanian Komuna e Haraçinës ) is an Opština of North Macedonia . Its administrative headquarters are in the city of Aračinovo . The Aračinovo Opština is part of the Skopje Statistical Region of the Republic of North Macedonia . Mainly corn is grown in the Opština . Aračinovo borders the city of Skopje and the Opštini Lipkovo , Petrovec and Kumanovo . It is on the main Skopje-Kumanovo connection in the Vardar Valley, to the north it is bounded by the Skopska Crna Gora mountain range. According to the 2002 census, Opština Aracinovo had 11,992 inhabitants, of which 90.72% were Albanians. The area was one of the main areas of conflict between guerrilla fighters and the armed forces of the Republic of Macedonia in 2001.
