Aračinovo ( Macedonian Арачиново ; Albanian Haraçina / Haraçinë ) is a small town and seat of the municipality of the same name, which in addition to the main town also includes the villages Grušino , Mojanci and Orlanci . The village is located in northern North Macedonia , only about two kilometers northeast of the capital Skopje .
geography
Aračinovo lies on a slope between 225 and 360 m above sea level. A couple of small brooks that have their source in the northern hill country flow through the settlement area. To the east, south and west of the village there are many fields for agricultural development.
Neighboring villages are Mojanci in the north, Orlanci in the north-east, Ajvatovci in the south-east, Ilinden in the south and Brnjarci in the north- west . In the southwest, Aračinovo borders on the municipality of the capital Skopje.

According to the last census from 2002, the municipality of Aračinovo had exactly 11,992 inhabitants, of which 7,315 lived in the actual place Aračinovo.

history
Aračinovo was one of the centers of the Albanian uprising in Macedonia in 2001 . Ethnic Albanian guerrillas controlled the city for a long time and fought long battles with the Macedonian army .
economy
Local agriculture employs many people because the Vardar Valley, on the northern side of which Aračinovo is located, is very fertile here. There are mainly corn and wheat grown. Many have also found jobs in the nearby capital, mainly in trade, industry, trade and services.

Only about one kilometers southwest - by the old main road Skopje- Kumanovo - is the entrance to the northern bypass of Skopje the highway M4 . About 20 kilometers southeast of Aračinovo is Skopje International Airport , which is the largest in the country.

The mayor of the municipality is Bastri Bajrami from the New Democracy , which has its only mayor in Aračinovo.
