openPR - The open PR portal is a German , Austrian and Swiss press portal .
history
In April 2004 the press portal was founded by the lawyer and journalist Roland Becker from Hamburg . When it was founded, the basic idea was to also offer small companies , associations and organizations the opportunity to present their innovations or activities to the public free of charge via the Internet . In July 2005, the American counterpart was bought up by openPR and has become a brand of Einstock GmbH from Hanover . In April 2006 the portal was supplemented by a weblog in which current news and press releases can be commented on. On July 30, 2007, the portal reached its 100,000 press release . In 2018 the press portal OpenPR merged with the PR distributor Connektar from Sebastian Einbock, who also heads the "Juraforum". The services of the openPR portal were supplemented by various fee-based services, such as B. the creation of press releases or final editing. The portal currently has over a million press releases from over 200,000 authors.
The range of the portal is subject to the review by the information community for determining the distribution of advertising media (IVW) and the Arbeitsgemeinschaft Online Forschung e. V. ( AGOF ).
